Whimsical Morris House Hotel Wedding: Black and white photo of the bride and groom sharing laughs while they walk, taken by Jason Moody

Whimsical Morris House Hotel Wedding

This Morris House Hotel wedding, which I shot for Afrik Armando, was full of joy and whimsy. Morris House Hotel is a historic gem in the heart of Philadelphia, and one of its best features – along with the impressive facade and impeccable atmosphere – is the hidden garden. Even though Morris House is in a truly central location, the courtyard feels intimate and peaceful. It proved to be the perfect setting for a micro wedding celebration.

This Morris House Hotel Wedding Was a Whimsical Garden

Their wedding planner, Shannon Wellington Weddings, really knew how to take advantage of the historic spaces and unique charm of this micro wedding venue in Philadelphia. One of the design choices that I really loved at this Morris House Hotel wedding was the commitment to asymmetry.

Carly’s dress had this elegant asymmetrical neckline, and her bouquet, instead of being a perfect mix of different blooms, was a whimsical collection of flowers arranged almost as if she had picked them herself. Fresh Design Florist leaned into this atmosphere with an asymmetrical riot of color for the ceremony arbor, transforming the conservatory event space into a glorious garden. The upside-down hanging floral arrangements did such an amazing job capturing this couple’s sense of creativity and playfulness!
