When Michelle and Kyle set out to find a glamorous wedding venue, they landed on Hotel Du Pont. After photographing their Hotel Du Pont wedding, it’s easy to see why. This Gilded Age gem is so beautiful. It turned out to be the perfect setting for Michelle and Kyle’s fun, beautiful wedding.
A Hotel Du Pont Wedding
Hotel Du Pont is located in a historic building in downtown Wilmington. The DuPont Company built it at the turn of the twentieth century, and it features incredible Gilded Age details inside and out. This hotel and wedding venue really does have all the glamor you could hope for. A marble staircase sweeps up from the lobby. Chandeliers line a golden ballroom. It looks like a palace inside.
It’s safe to say that a Hotel Du Pont wedding will be memorable. The event spaces are big with capacity ranging between 100 and 550 guests. The starting price for a reception is $35,000. Hotel Du Pont caters all events and even provides cakes from the pastry shop located within the hotel.
Michelle and Kyle’s Glamorous Celebration
Before Michelle and Kyle’s Hotel Du Pont wedding, I asked them what drew them to my work. Here’s what they told me: “We really love your authentic, effortless style. We want our photos to be immersive and really capture the feeling and the moments of our day. We think all of your work does an amazing job of this!!!” I’m really glad that these aspects of my work resonated with Michelle and Kyle. I work hard to create artistic images that help you remember exactly what it was like to be in that moment. These wedding photos do exactly that.
Since Michelle and Kyle put so much effort into finding the perfect wedding venue for them, I wanted to capture the day and the space as it was. That especially went for the lighting. The historic architecture is stunning. I wanted to make the photos feel like they could have been taken in 2024 or 1964. Instead of using flash the whole time, I used a mix of artificial and ambient light to achieve this. Combined with Michelle’s vintage style, the photos have a timelessness to them.
This wedding was exactly what Michelle and Kyle hoped for in so many ways. They wanted it to be glamorous. Hotel Du Pont is stunning and went a long way to creating the guest experience they wanted. Michelle and Kyle wanted their guests to feel special while sharing this moment in such an amazing place. Their wishes for a full dance floor also came true! They wanted “an amazing night that we can talk about for years to come,” and they got it.
